I've watched a few tutorial videos and read pages and pages of user guide and still not clear to me how to do both and no I"m going to get the kind of copy I want (new Master or or new Slave instance of existing Master). This kind of thing is so obvious in InDesign (with master pages) or AI (with say brushes or patters) but incredibly opaque in PPro. It's clear as mud to me what's going on and how to make one kind of copy (that reflects changes in a Master version, and the text change in the Effect Controls> Master Tab) and another kind of copy that is effectively a new master. I need multiple instances of each individually named lower third, so change one change all is good for that but not for changing the instances that need to be different clips. When I use the Right-Click> Duplicate menu item in the Project window, clicking on one of the DL clips, if I edit the duplicate, it edits the original. Then I started noticing when I change a copy it also changed the text in the original. Then I "Option" + Dragged to make three new copies, all good. I mad a lower third in AE, I used a dynamic link to bring it into PPro.
